Welcome to the Studio…
Constructed by Richard, the studio contains his work bench (a piece of art in itself), completed pieces, pieces of Richard’s favorite art, a comfortable couch positioned in front of a wood burning stove, and an extensive book collection that often provides creative inspiration.
Seeing Richard’s sculptures inside the studio offers perspective of scale, depth and dimension that is not always communicated through individual sculpture photographs. Click on an image.
The studio is located in the mountains just outside Santa Fe, New Mexico.
I remember you in your cool loft in a Portland garage. You and your penny whistles, which I hope you still play. Oddly I’ve been trying to move into wood sculpture with some success, but can’t find teachers. I see you mentioned Tom Hardy–I’ll look him up.
I had two kids, lived near Laurelhurst Park. We all remember the little white sculpture you gave us. Maybe I’ll come to your studio when I get back to Santa Fe. I joined a Upaya trip to Japan last year and could visit Upaya again sometime.
Nice to see you here!
